Chalkboard Fridge

So instead of cleaning my house, I decided (on Monday) to turn my fridge into a chalkboard.

Step 1:  Take all the magnets off and clean it. I also put painters tape on the parts I didn’t want to paint.

(Pardon the light specks. My kitchen is very narrow and that’s the best angle I could get.)

Step 2:  I put some magnetic primer. This stuff takes forever to mix well and takes 3 coats. Now I don’t know if anyone else has a trick about this but I couldn’t get this stuff to wash off so I had to toss the roller and the pan.  The magnetic primer is pricey but I still wanted to use my fridge as a magnet and I knew with paint on it, it would never work.

Here it is, all primed and ready. (Thank goodness for painter’s tape!)

Step 3:  Was to spray paint the fridge with chalk paint. If I had to do it again, I would have bought paint. I thought spray painting would be easier…yeah right….it was messy and we M had to mop the floor.

Remove tape and ta-da!!!

Our next project in a little while will be to take that magnetic primer, paint it on the wall, paint over it with regular paint..your wall is magnetized. We are going to do that in M’s room. No more tacks, nails, etc for her posters ;)

I have a question. Why does the WOT widget for firefox say your blog site is dangerous and may put spyware on my computer? I’m pretty sure your blog isn’t malicious, but, I’m curious if you knew about this or not.

it basically tells you how trustworthy a site is. I rely on it a lot. Your site has red circles and a warning from both McAfee and WOT that your site is malicious…?

Thanks Amy! Oh the scripting exploits are some scripts I need to run that they don’t like for my fanlisting.

If you run it through the google site diagnostic, it will give you a clean bill of health.
