Becoming christian is the best thing that I ever did in my life and it will always remain the best thing that a person can ever do.
Being christian isn't following some rules, some does and don't. That misses the whole poing of it. Being a christian is accepting Jesus as your personal savior and living by that. Being nice, friendly, smiling all the time, being courteous, helping out...all these things are good but they don't get you in Heaven. I always thought that if I stayed clear of the "big" sins like murder, I would be fine. But I wasn't. I'm glad I found that out before it was too late.

"In very truth I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he has been born again." ~ John 3:3

"In very truth I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born from water and spirit." ~ John 3:5

"The wind blows where it wills; you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born from the spirit." ~ John 3:8.

Yup..born again. Becomming a christian is turning from the old way of life and leaving all those things from the old way of life and turn to a new way...christian life. We can all try to earn God's pardon by following the commandments, by leading a life that is moraly right, basically by being "good". But we always fall short of God's glory.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." ~ Romans 3:23 We don't get anywhere close to earning anything from God. I'm glad I don't have to either cause even if we added everyone's "good deeds", we would be miles and miles away still.

But "luckily" God sent us Jesus. God gave us the one thing He loved the most, His only Son for us. God not only give have mercy on us, but He gave us grace. God not only forgave everything that we have done and everything that we will do, He also gives us things. Everyday...He guides us, comforts us...allows us to have the best. To US!!! We hardly deserve it and yet He gives it to us willingly and very happily.

Why should we change our ways? When you look at it, God seems harsh and mean and not there? Well that is the way WE see it but in fact, God only wants what is best and He knows what is best for us, that's why sometimes He can get cross. It may seem like does and don'ts...but hmmm my parents told me not to put my fingers in the sockets..and not to talk to strangers...The one difference between God and our parents is that God truly does know what is best. Sometimes His timing is just different than ours, have faith and be patient and you will see.

How to become a christian?

Acknowledge that you are a sinner and repent of your sins.

Believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again to give us eternal life.

"Christ also died for sins once and for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God." ~ 1 Peter 3:18

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." ~ John 3:16

Have faith and receive what God has given to us by giving His Son: "God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life." ~ 1 John 5:11-12

Just read this prayer and if you feel ok with what it says, take a deep breath and pray it :)

"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Lord, I repent from my sins and turn away from them. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that You rose again to live in me. Lord, I ask you to come into my heart and life, guide me, protect me. I place my life in Your hands. Thank You Lord that I am Your child and You are my Father. Thank You Lord that You have forgiven me and cleansed me of my sins. Amen"
