:: Using Glitter ::

This tutorial is to show you how to use glitter. I used Paint Shop Pro 9 but I'm sure the jest of it is the same for Photoshop. You need to know a little bit about psp to do this tutorial.

If you want to know how to actually make your own glitter, see my other tutorials.

This is what we are doing:

1. First thing you have to do is open the glitter you want in Animation Shop. I have 2 tutorials on making glitter.

2. In Animation Shop, go to Edit > Select all.

3. Now go to Paint Shop Pro and go to Edit > Paste > Paste Animation as Multiple Images. You will see all the frames of your glitter appear as individual images. ( You could also use "paste as new image" and all your frames will be on one image and each frame will have it's own layer. If you are comfortable enough using it that way, it's a good space saver on your psp).

4. Next, open a canvas 400x200 or whatever size you are working with.

5. Flood fill with a background color, we are going to use white.

6. Now use your text tool:

7. Pick a font and size you need. Make sure you have it as a "Floating". I chose the font Krystal, size 72, and the background color set to black.

8. Now to to your layer menu and right click on the floating selection and "defloat". Do not deselect.

9. Copy your layer as many times as you have frames in your glitter. I have 3 frames so I will duplicate my layer twice.

10. Go to your background color and set it to pattern. Choose your first frame of your glitter.

11. Now hide the 2 top layers of your image. Make sure you have the lower layer selected.

12. Use your paint brush tool. Have the size set really high. Make sure thehardness, opacity, tickness, and density are set to 100

13. Now paint your selection with the first glitter frame.

14. Hide the bottom layer and reveal the second from the bottom. Make sure you select the second layer as well. Repeat step 12 and 13 using your second glitter image.

15. Repeat 14, 12, and 13 until all your layers have been filled.

16. Basically at this point, you should have each layer filled with a different frame from your glitter.

17. Now Deselect the selection (Control + D)

18. Hide all the layers but the bottom one. Make sure you have that layer selected.

19. Now go to Edit > Copy Merged (Control + Shift + C).

20. Go to Animation Shop and paste that first layer.

21. Hide the first layer and show the second layer from the bottom. Copy and paste it to Animation shop after the first frame (Control + Shift + L).

22. Continue copying and pasting until all your layers are pasted in Animation Shop.

Play your animation and save it and you're all set!!

You can use this technique with anything you can floodfill.
